I love the outdoors. The wilder the place, the happier I am. So when I became a grandmother four years ago I decided that my love of the outdoors would be something I would share with my grandson. The posts located beneath this page are stories, ideas, lists etc are inspired by my time with Avi. He calls me Nocih or “My grandmother” in Nahuatl. I hope you enjoy reading about our adventures together as much as I love experiencing them.
If you are a grandmother or grandfather, especially if you are a novice to the outdoors I hope you take on this challenge; teach your babies to be stewards of the land. In doing so you will enrich your life and literally give the world to your grandchild.
Never mind the tired old excuse of “I’m too old.” Do what you can and you will see that it will help you feel better every time you get out there.
Never mind the notion that your grandkids have better things to do with their friends. Nope. Invite a kid or two along. That alone will change your life while you change theirs.
Expose yourself to your loved ones…outside. (I made myself laugh.)
Thank you for checking in and I hope you visit often.
